Carl Frampton will be joining the fun at the Custom House Square event village alongside Pete Snodden, who has just been revealed as the event’s celebrity host, revving up the crowds with a range of family-friendly activities.

From 9am to 1pm the city centre venue will come alive with entertainment, including fun warm ups from official Sport Relief partner, Better Leisure Centres, and Fitness Freddy; performances from the Queen’s Elite Dance Team, a climbing wall, and, of course, plenty of music and craic!

The Custom House Square Event Village will also be the starting point for the Belfast Mile which loops around the city centre. Walk, run or jog yourself proud with a single mile lap or go for three or even six – it’s up to you and your energy levels!

Calling for the public to sign up to walk, run, swim or cycle themselves proud, Pete Snodden said: “If Carl Frampton can find time to get behind Sport Relief Belfast, so can you! If you are in great physical shape and love your fitness regime, so much the better, but you don’t have to be an athlete to tackle the Sport Relief challenges.

“Walk, Run, Cycle, Swim – or even Dander Yourself Proud and we’ll be grateful for your help and support! Sign up now on line or just rock up on the big day – everyone is welcome as we all get together to do something positive, raising money for some great causes.”

Calling on people to get up and get into the spirit of Sport Relief in the heart of Belfast on Sunday, Gareth Kirk, Regional Director for Belfast’s Better Leisure Centres, added; “There’s never been a better reason to kick off the duvet on a Sunday morning and get going with some exercise. Choose a gentle pace with the family or go head-to-head with your sporty mates, but join us for Belfast’s big day and be part of something special.”

Queen’s Sport PEC will be the venue for the Swimathon, with the option to Swim alone or as part of a team over 1.5k, 2.5k or 5k. It’s also the starting point for the Family Cycle which finishes at the Event Village.

Half of all the money raised by the public for Sport Relief is used to make a difference throughout the UK. The other half is used to transform lives across the world’s poorest communities.
