TRANSFER TALK: Premier League gossip and done deals round-up as Chelsea slap £120m price tag on star man, plus 'dream' move confirmed

Here’s the Press Association round-up of Premier League transfer talk from Tuesday:

GOSSIP: Manchester City will have to pay Chelsea more than £120million to sign Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea if they try to complete a deal in the final two weeks of the transfer window, according to the Telegraph.

A deadline for offers set by the London club passed on Friday, but City remain interested.

The Blues also want around £100m if they are to sell winger Pedro Neto this summer, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal among the clubs interested in the Portugal international, as reported by the Mail.

Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham are all also reportedly interested in Neto, who arrived at Stamford Bridge for £54m from Wolves in 2024.

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign 22-year-old Spain midfielder Marc Casado, who has been made available by Barcelona, according to Spanish publication Sport.

NEWCASTLE UNITED: Newcastle have signed Bosnia and Herzegovina defender Amar Dedic from Benfica for a reported fee of £29.5million.

The 24-year-old, who made three appearances for his country at the World Cup, has agreed a five-year contract and becomes the Magpies’ sixth summer arrival.

Dedic is reunited with boss Matthias Jaissle, who he played under during spells at previous clubs Liefering and Salzburg.

The full-back said: “It’s a special feeling and a really big honour for me to join Newcastle United. I can’t wait to start playing for the club and their amazing fans.

“Working with Matthias again was a big factor for me. We know each other well, he knows what I can bring on the pitch and I’m really happy to be playing for him again.”

Dedic, who has 31 international caps, began his professional career at Salzburg in 2015 and spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Marseille before joining Benfica in the summer of 2025.

MANCHESTER CITY: Manchester City midfielder Rodri has arrived in Barcelona ahead of his £65.4million move to the Catalan giants.

The 30-year-old said it was “a dream come true” to be heading to the Nou Camp, with the deal set to be finalised following a medical on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters at Barcelona’s El Prat airport, Rodri said: “I’m very happy to be here. It’s been an intense few days, but I’m glad everything is sorted out.

“Playing for Barcelona is a dream come true for me. I’m really looking forward to being with my team-mates, most of whom I already know from the national team, so now it’s time to work hard and give my best.

“We’re going for the Champions League, we’re going for everything that comes our way.”

The midfielder, who lifted the World Cup with Spain this summer, had entered the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and was the subject of interest from both Barcelona and their arch rivals Real Madrid.

Barca had seen an opening offer of £40m rejected last week and failed with an increased bid before reaching an agreement on Sunday.

If all goes to plan with Rodri’s medical, his signing could be announced later the same day, with a formal presentation pencilled in for Wednesday.

City had hoped to keep Rodri, with manager Enzo Maresca describing him as a “top player” and saying, “all the teams need Rodri” after the Community Shield on Sunday. However, they have been unable to persuade their linchpin to stay and sign a new contract.

Rodri had only returned to City on Friday having undergone back surgery following the World Cup.

The former Atletico Madrid player has spent seven seasons with City, winning the Premier League four times and scoring the only goal when they beat Inter Milan in the 2023 Champions League final.

The following year he won the Ballon d’Or but by the time he was presented with the trophy he was sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury which ruled him out of most of the 2024-25 campaign.

Further hamstring and groin problems then limited him to 33 appearances in Pep Guardiola’s final campaign in charge.

City have already undergone major changes in midfield this summer, spending £116m on Elliot Anderson, while agreeing a deal to sell Tijjani Reijnders to Al Qadisah.

They have also been linked with Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.
