'A cannon of a right foot' - Irish League striker 'always learning' urged to study record-breaking team-mate
Brian Healy may hold top spot in the club’s season scoring charts but the on-song striker has been urged to study record-breaking Joe Gormley for long-term gains.
A weekend double in the 3-1 defeat of Dungannon Swifts served as additional evidence of the Healy goal threat on display since signing for the Reds in January.
Given Healy still stands within his first year in Cliftonville colours it is natural Gormley’s milestone numbers including over 300 goals for the club remain aspirational.
However, Cliftonville boss Jim Magilton wants Healy to look to Gormley’s historic ability in front of goal for lessons within the present.

"We're consistently talking to Brian about getting across that near post and actually playing more centrally when the ball's wide,” said Magilton following a 3-1 win which also featured Rory Hale on target plus the Swifts’ Sean McAllister. "He's with a master craftsmen in Joe (Gormley).
"That's Joe's focus...Joe heads towards the centre of the goal.
"Brian's always learning, he's been a fantastic addition to the group.
"The second is a typical finish when you get him in those areas, he's got technical ability, real quality, a cannon of a right foot.
"Brian's a really good player, he's a work in progress and he's developing all the time. "
Following Premiership pain with defeats across six successive fixtures, Cliftonville managed to stop the rot off Dungannon delight on the road.
Healy scored the first and final goals at Stangmore Park, with Hale making it 2-0 before McAllister cut the gap.
"The difference was our finishing...we were clinical,” added Magilton in his post-match interview with BBC Radio Ulster Sportsound. "We've played well in lots of games but just not had that cutting edge...today we had a cutting edge, which was great.
"Today was a classic example of a cutting edge...we scored goals at the right time.
"This is always a difficult ground because of the quality of the opposition and the quality of the staff and how they set up, so we're delighted.
"Today we set up tactically really well...we felt we knew where we could potentially hurt Dungannon.
"Because of how well they're coached and because of the quality of player they have, especially if you turn the ball over against them they can hurt you.
"Today was our day in terms of how clinical we were...so it's three points, that's all it really is and we move on now to next week."
