'I'll give the club everything' - Duncan Ferguson's Glentoran vow as he moves into Irish League management
Duncan Ferguson has vowed to “give the club everything” in pursuit of bringing trophy success back to Glentoran.
The Everton cult hero and former Rangers striker is determined to guide the Glens back to the top of Irish League football.
Ferguson’s managerial career includes caretaker boss and assistant manager spells in the Premier League with Everton alongside time at Forest Green Rovers plus Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
He is relishing the opportunity to embrace life in Northern Ireland.

"It was a good chance for me…great club, big club,” said Ferguson. "And it was a chance for me to get back into football.
"They've got ambition to try and get this club back to where it was before.
"I know they've not won a title for about 17, 20 years so the owner (Ali Pour) wants to win and he's put a lot of money into the club. I'm a people's person and when I met him we got on very well.
"And I think we'll get the backing from him as he's backed the club for the last four or five, six years.
"I've been out of football for two years...hopefully we can compete with the teams at the top of the league and get a bit closer to them, because at the moment they're a bit adrift."
Ferguson is set to bring the drive and desire which made him such a fan favourite as a player to the dug-out, alongside experience working with world-class managers such as Carlo Ancelotti and Rafael Benítez.
"I'll bring my expertise that I've had over the last 10, 15 years in my coaching,” he said. "I've worked under a lot of great managers, I've got experience myself in management.
"I've managed at the top, I've managed in England, I've managed in Scotland, now I'm managing in Northern Ireland.
"I'll bring a football team that will really run and run and run...and I'll push them as hard as I possibly can.
"And, hopefully, I'll set them up tactically well as well.
"And we need to bring goals...we need to score goals to win games.
"I think defensively we've been very good, but maybe just lacked a wee bit of creating chances.
"But I'll give the club everything.
"I expect my players to give me everything as well.”
"We want to be winners.”
