Glasgow City striker Wade, who helped Northern Ireland secure a vital win in last month’s encounter against Belarus in Minsk, believes the future of the women’s game is bright here.

“Our hopes are to make it to the play offs for the first time in history,” said the Coleraine native.

“To do this and into the finals would be something special with Northern Ireland.

“It would be a dream come true!

“The coaching staff and players have worked so hard in terms of preparations for both the matches.

“The level of training has been fantastic and we all have the mentality and belief that we are to come away with nothing less than two wins.

“We’re under no illusions that Belarus are a great side and I think the preparation that we’ve put into this game has been second to none and we’re all excited and looking forward to it.

“Over the last number of years the women’s game has improved massively in NI in no small part due to the support of the Electric Ireland Game Changers campaign that encourages support and participation in women’s football so it’s exciting where it can go in the next couple of years.”
