Newly-promoted club confirm signing of former Larne and Linfield goalkeeper
Former Linfield and Larne goalkeeper Conor Mitchell has been backed to bring “quality, professionalism and experience” after joining newly-promoted Rosario.
Mitchell started his senior career in England at Burnley and has also enjoyed Irish League spells with Warrenpoint Town, Dungannon Swifts, Newry City, H&W Welders and Rathfriland Rangers.
The former Northern Ireland U21 international made 14 Championship appearances for Welders last term before joining Rathfriland in January, racking up a further 14 league outings.
Mitchell has played 68 times in Northern Ireland’s top-flight throughout his career and also started in an Irish Cup final for Larne during their loss to Linfield at Mourneview Park in May 2021.

The 30-year-old has now joined Rosario, who are managed by ex-Irish League striker Chris Morgan and were confirmed this week as one of 12 teams taking part in next season’s inaugural National Conference League Premier Division.
Rosario and Ballymena & Provincial League champions St James Swifts have joined the 10 clubs who finished between fifth and bottom in last term’s Premier Intermediate League.
Announcing Mitchell’s arrival, Rosario said: “The former Burnley FC goalkeeper brings a wealth of experience to Rosario, having represented Northern Ireland at Under-21 level and enjoyed a career spanning professional football in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
“Conor’s quality, professionalism and experience will be a huge asset to the squad as we continue to build for the challenges ahead.
“Everyone at Rosario would like to extend a warm welcome to Conor and we look forward to seeing him in Rosario colours.”
