There have been many standout performers in Northern Ireland’s top-flight this term but rather naming a traditional Team of the Year, we’ve decided to put a twist on it: you can only pick one player from each side.
You have to be tactical with your effort...here’s our attempt!

9. Joel Cooper (Linfield)
Joel Cooper hasn't just been the best Linfield player this season, but the best Premiership player. He has registered 19 goals and nine assists to help David Healy's side reclaim the Gibson Cup crown. Among the many metrics which show just how dangerous Cooper has been, he has made more key passes (57) and completed more dribbles (159) than any other player. A truly special season. 10. Matthew Shevlin (Coleraine)
The Premiership's top scorer with 20, Matthew Shevlin has enjoyed a superb first season in full-time football and is nominated for the NIFL Football Awards Premiership Player of the Year at this weekend's ceremony. Photo: Andrew McCarroll

11. Joe Gormley (Cliftonville)
At 35, Joe Gormley has scored 18 league goals - his best return since 2018/19 - and also netted the winner in the BetMcLean Cup final win over Glentoran. Gormley will hope for further silverware after firing Cliftonville to next month's Irish Cup final against Dungannon Swifts. Photo: David Maginnis
