SUPERCUPNI REVIEW: Results and reports from Monday across fixtures for boys and girls

County Antrim produced one of the standout performances of the opening day as they swept aside Rangers 3-0 to launch their Boys' Premier campaign in style at the 2026 Budget Energy SuperCupNI.

The county side, three-time Boys' Junior champions, delivered an accomplished display in front of a packed Coleraine Showgrounds to secure a deserved victory over the Scottish giants and lay down an early marker in this year's competition.

Rangers, who are chasing their first Boys' Premier title since 1992, struggled to contain a lively County Antrim side that dictated proceedings from the outset.

The hosts threatened inside 11 minutes when Eoin Harden attempted to catch Igor Mames off his line, only for his ambitious effort to drift onto the roof of the net.

County Antrim's bright start was rewarded eight minutes later. Oscar Spence won possession high up the pitch before driving into space and delivering a pinpoint low cross for Padai O'Kane, who calmly swept his finish into the bottom-left corner.

O'Kane almost doubled the lead before the interval after turning sharply inside the box, but Mames reacted well to parry his effort before producing another excellent stop to deny Harden from the rebound. Luca Lavery, arriving from right-back, could only drag the loose ball wide.

The pressure eventually told five minutes after the restart. Mames could only push JB Camlin's curling effort into the path of O'Kane, who reacted quickest to tap home from a tight angle and claim his second goal of the afternoon.

County Antrim put the contest beyond doubt just two minutes later as substitute Camlin capitalised on a loose ball, rounded the advancing goalkeeper and calmly slotted into the empty net to spark celebrations among the home support.

Defending champions Southampton also made a winning start, edging past County Londonderry 2-1 at Seahaven.

Charlie Scorer and Louix Quinn gave the Saints a two-goal advantage before the break, but County Londonderry responded after half-time through Lukas Doherty. Despite a spirited finish, they were unable to find an equaliser.

Seven-time Boys' Premier champions Manchester United opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Intercontinental FA at Limavady Showgrounds.

Playing in the tournament for the first time since 2019, the Ghana-based academy side cruised to victory thanks to goals from Lasse Gernaey, Novak Aletic and Yaya Sidibe.

County Londonderry made the brighter start at Seahaven, with Josh Adams, Jake Booth and Liam McAteer all going close before their early pressure was rewarded midway through the first half.

McAteer fired David Platt's side in front on 24 minutes after Spurs failed to clear their lines following a dangerous free-kick.

The Premier League side almost responded immediately, but Harry McBride produced an excellent save to deny Eden Kosh just three minutes later.

Tottenham returned after the break with renewed purpose and began to pile on the pressure. Alex Nocorici saw an effort cleared off the line before Yahya Kone found the equaliser on 48 minutes. Both sides pushed for a winner in an entertaining finish, but neither could find a decisive breakthrough as the points were shared.

Defending champions County Antrim made the perfect start to the defence of their Boys' Junior crown with a 4-2 victory over County Tyrone at Coleraine Showgrounds.

In the Boys' Minor competition, Portadown claimed local bragging rights after edging Glenavon 1-0 in a fiercely contested Mid-Ulster derby in front of a large crowd at Anderson Park.

As expected, the opening stages were full of intensity, with neither side giving an inch.

Portadown came closest to breaking the deadlock early on when Mason Ardis raced clear onto a ball over the top of the Glenavon defence before attempting an ambitious chip from distance that drifted narrowly wide.

The breakthrough arrived on 22 minutes as Cameron Fitzsimons twisted away from his marker before firing home to spark wild celebrations among the Portadown supporters.

Glenavon responded positively after the interval, with Jayden Carvalho causing problems down the flanks. Daniel Calvin also went close to an equaliser before a frantic last-minute scramble drifted just wide as Portadown held firm to secure an opening-day victory.

Linfield also collected all three points with a 3-0 win over Newell Academy at Coleraine Showgrounds.

Caodhan Moore opened the scoring after good work from Luke Duddy before Louis Campbell struck twice to seal a comfortable victory for the young Blues.

Northern Ireland made the perfect start at Dixon Park, taking the lead inside five minutes when Sara Devaney kept her composure after being played through on goal before slotting home at the near post.

It got even better for the hosts moments later as Kirkpatrick doubled the advantage with an excellent strike from distance.

Danielle McDowell-Tuffey's side dominated much of the opening half and should have extended their lead before the interval after being awarded a penalty, but Sasha Cowan fired her spot-kick wide.

Northern Ireland made no mistake after the restart, with Kirkpatrick adding a third four minutes into the second half after finishing off a well-worked move from close range.

Three minutes later she completed her hat-trick to put the result beyond doubt.

The hosts continued to create chances, with Abigail Fitzsimmons heading narrowly over before Grace Guest completed the scoring 10 minutes from time with Northern Ireland's fifth goal.
