The Quattro Plant Cool Kawasaki rider made the drier track conditions work to his advantage after finishing seventh in Sunday’s wet Sprint race, quickly taking the lead and easing clear at the front to seal his second win this season after he clinched 25 points in round one at Silverstone.

Reid won by four seconds from Gearlink Kawasaki’s Luke Hedge, with James Westmoreland completing the top three on the Came BPT Yamaha.

Tarran Mackenzie crashed out of second place as he chased after race leader Reid on the Stauff Kawasaki.

A delighted Reid, who clashed with Ben Currie on the opening, with the Pacedayz Yamaha rider crashing out, said: “I was fourth on the grid today, which I felt was a strong position to start from going into turn on.

“I had Luke [Hedger] and Ben [Currie] with me and I was pushing hard to get into the lead because I do feel I have a good pace around here on my own, but I don’t feel it was any different than any other Supersport race I’ve raced before,” added Reid on his tangle with Currie.

“I’m sorry he went down and it’s unfortunate, but that’s racing.”

David Allingham finished sixth while Andrew Irwin registered a DNF.

Reid is now 16 points clear of Westmoreland at the top of the table.
