Carl Phillips wins 50th anniversary Enkalon Trophy for second time after commanding Ulster Superbike double at Bishopscourt
Ulster Superbike champion Carl Phillips won the prestigious Enkalon Trophy for the second time in the 50th anniversary year of the famous race at Bishopscourt in Co Down.
Phillips completed a double on the Bell Bikesport/B&W Racing BMW to extend his lead in the championship to 42 points over Jonny Campbell with two rounds remaining.
The Lisburn man sealed victory in the second Enkalon race by 8.388s and clocked the fastest lap of the day in 1m 05.487s (100.270mph) at the 1.824-mile circuit.
Campbell had no answer to the reigning champion but was a comfortable second on his 155 Racing BMW.

The race was red-flagged on the penultimate lap of 12, with Phillips in control at the front.
As he did in the first race, Phillips – who won the Enkalon silverware for the first time in 2019 – powered into the lead and was already 1.6s clear of Campbell at the end of the first lap.
He increased his lead to almost five seconds over Campbell by the midway point of the race and extended his advantage further to over seven seconds by the end of lap nine.
It was a commanding performance by Phillips, who showed his pedigree when he returned to the National Superstock 1000 Championship in August at the Oulton Park and Thruxton rounds, securing an impressive seventh place at Thruxton.
The former British Superstock 600 Championship runner-up will compete in the final National Superstock 1000 round at Brands Hatch in October before defending his Sunflower Trophy crown at Bishopscourt.
Ryan Gibson was third overall in the Enkalon Trophy classification on his Gibson Motors/Firewood Supplies BMW after two third-place finishes.
Dean McMaster was fourth on his Air NI Kawasaki in the second Enkalon race ahead of Mark Hewitt (DentBoy BMW) and Aaron Armstrong (Yamaha).
The penultimate round of the Ulster Superbike Championship will be held at Bishopscourt next weekend with the two-day David Wood Memorial Trophy meeting.
