Cookstown 100: Double for Michael Dunlop after Moto3 victory for home team Burrows Engineering/RK Racing

Michael Dunlop delivered a popular victory for Ulster team Burrows Engineering/RK Racing as he made a one-off appearance in the Moto3/125GP race at the Cookstown 100 on Saturday for a double.

Dunlop, who dominated Friday’s Open Superbike Invitational race on his MD Racing BMW Superstock machine, was third on the first lap, but the Ballymoney rider quickly found his way past Dan Sayle and Chris Meyer to take the lead.

Dunlop controlled the race from the front and moved into a commanding lead, eventually winning the nine-lap encounter by 9.795s from Sayle (KTM 250).

Meyer finished third on his Honda 250 ahead of Don Gilbert on the Parker Car Transport Honda 250.
