The points add up to pounds at Laurel View

Persistence and consistency definitely paid off, as while organisers saw many fine performances win rosettes throughout the league, the competitors that took home the cash weren’t always at the top of their class, but rather demonstrated great progress as they strove to pick up as many double clears as possible.

Taking home the top prize over the 45cm course was Cormac Creagh on Laurel View Connie, pipping Rachael Hughes and Roxy to the top spot.

Grace-Ann Elliott and Magherbans Star Gazer were regularly top of the class on competition nights and this resulted in a win for them over the 60cm fences, a few points ahead of runner up Emma Dodds on Bounce Like Tigger.

Cora McNulty and Pippa were well ahead of the rest of the class, having never missed a night and scoring double clears on all but three. Second to Cora was Alison Larkham riding Delilah.

Skylark Express and Kathy Delargy steamed into first in the 80cm league, just a point ahead of Kate Spence riding Laurel View Silver.

Kathryn Wilson and Ollie may have been the only qualifier forward at the final, but they earned their top spot all the same and were pleased when the points collated were converted to pounds.

Wednesday night show jumping at Laurel View resumes on March 9 for an eight week Spring League, meanwhile lessons with Eric Smiley FBHS, various clinics and instructor training are filling the Wednesday night slot at Laurel View.
