“In the past year, we’ve invested heavily in our Cityside-Yorkgate cinema to give customers the ultimate luxury movie experience with comfortable VIP recliner seats at no additional cost. We want to encourage all our customers to come experience VIP for themselves,” he said.

All staff who work at Dublin Road have been offered employment at its other cinemas.

Mr McAdam added: “I want to say a huge thank you to our staff team who have kept Dublin Road operating in uncertain conditions while we waited to agree the final closing date. They’ve done an amazing job and I’d like to publicly thank them for this.

“We will continue to show movies until Sunday, April 26 and hope our customers old and new will come to say goodbye. We wish Kainos well in their new development and to thank them for extending our time at Dublin Road.”
