Orange halls among hundreds of venues throwing open their doors for free this weekend for Northern Ireland's European Heritage Open Days 2026
Orange halls are among the venues opening their doors to the general public this weekend for free as part of the 2026 instalment of the annual European Heritage Open Days.
Five Orange properties are taking part: Lisburn Orange Hall, Ballynafeigh Orange Hall in south Belfast, and north Belfast’s Clifton Street Orange Hall, plus two properties linked to Orange Order co-founder Dan Winter in Loughgall.

Lisburn Orange Hall on Railway Street, completed in 1871, is one of the largest Orange halls in Ireland.
Visitors will be shown around the premises and given a brief history of the building and plans for the future, with tea and coffee available.
It will be open from 10am to 2pm on Saturday and 2pm to 5pm on Sunday.
Ballynafeigh hall on the Upper Ormeau Road will be open from 11am to 4pm on the Saturday only, with guided tours on the hour.
Clifton Street Orange Hall, built in 1850, will be open from 10am to 2pm on Saturday only.
In Loughgall, Dan Winter’s house at 9 Derryloughan Road will be open on Saturday from 10.30am to 17.30pm, and on Sunday from 2pm to 5.30pm.
The house is situated in the farmyard was where the first meeting to discuss the forming of the Orange Order took place on September 21, 1795.
The house has the original family clothing and furniture on display, and artifacts from the Battle of the Diamond, and in the farmyard the original old four-cow byre with the cobble stone floor with old milking equipment is on display along with vintage machinery.
Tours and talks are available on request.
Just a short distance away at 1 Derryloughan Road is Dan Winter’s cottage and ancestral home, open on Saturday from 2pm to 5pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
Built in 1623, it still bears the scorch marks from the Battle of the Diamond, and opposite the cottage lies the spring well where the decision to form the Orange Order was made.
