Gordons Chemists Brings Five-Day Community Health Drive To Magherafelt

Residents across Mid Ulster are being encouraged to put their health first as Gordons Chemists launches a dedicated five-day Health Services Week at its Magherafelt store.

Running from Monday 21st to Friday 25th September at Gordons Chemists, 1 Meeting Street, the initiative will place a different area of health in focus each day, giving local people the opportunity to meet clinicians, ask questions and learn more about the support available close to home. The programme will run from 9am until 6pm daily.

Gareth McGuigan, Pharmacist at Gordons Chemists said, “Your local pharmacy should feel like one of the easiest doors to walk through when you have a health question. People can sometimes put off seeking advice because they are busy, unsure where to begin or worried that their concern is not serious enough.

Gareth added, “By bringing a different health focus into the store each day, we want to make that first step simpler. Whether someone wants to understand their hearing, explore weight-management support, discuss mole scanning, check their blood pressure or learn more about NHS pharmacy services, they can start with a straightforward conversation in a familiar setting.”

The programme begins on Monday 21st September with audiology services from Shane, followed by weight-management support from Alan on Tuesday 22nd September. On Wednesday 23rd September, Amanda will provide mole scanning and Duality Health Private GP services, while Thursday 24th September will focus on health checks with Shannagh, including a free blood pressure test. The week concludes on Friday 25th September with Gareth McGuigan highlighting the NHS pharmacy services available to the community.

Throughout the week, customers can also receive 10% off products and services in store, subject to exclusions. The offer is intended to encourage more people to explore the wider range of health and wellbeing support available through their local pharmacy.

Members of the public are invited to call into Gordons Chemists Magherafelt between 9am and 6pm during the week. As availability, eligibility and appointment requirements may vary between services, customers are encouraged to check details in advance by scanning the QR code on campaign materials or speaking to the pharmacy team in store.
