Sparkling Service: Asda Strabane colleague reunites customer with lost diamond earring
Asda Strabane colleague reunites customer with lost diamond earring
An Asda colleague has been praised for his determination and honesty after finding a valuable diamond and returning it to a grateful customer.

Liam McNulty, 22, a front-end retail assistant at Asda Strabane was on porter duties on an evening shift when a colleague told him a customer had called the store asking whether a diamond earring had been handed in.
Collecting trolleys from the car park, Liam a final-year Computer Science student at Ulster University, used the torch on his phone to light up the ground, he noticed a sparkle from the corner of his eye.
”I was chuffed when I realised it was an earring,” said Liam.
Heading straight back to the store, Liam told his colleague the good news, before the team called the customer, who confirmed the earring he’d found was the right one – a piece of jewellery of significant financial value.
The customers later offered Liam a substantial reward for finding the jewellery, but he politely declined.
Liam said:
“I knew the earring must have meant a lot to the customer, so I just kept an eye out while I was outside collecting trolleys. When I spotted it, I was delighted to be able to help and see how happy the customer was to get it back.”
Emma Kelly, Community Champion, Asda Strabane added:
“We’re all very proud of Liam, keeping an eye out for the missing earring while carrying out his duties helped reunite the customer with something very valuable to them. It was a lovely moment for everyone involved. Well done Liam!”
