Unique Enniskillen restaurant could be NI’s best
Angie’s New Haven APizza has been nominated as Northern Ireland’s Favourite Local Business 2026. The competition gives people the chance to win a share of £2,000 in Town & City Gift Cards, such as the Enniskillen Gift Card

An Enniskillen restaurant inspired by a unique style of pizza is in the running to be Northern Ireland’s Favourite Local Business. Angie’s New Haven APizza located on Cornagrade Road has received multiple nominations in the national competition.
Owned by Nicky Rooney, the business opened in 2021 after Nicky returned from 22 years living in the USA, keen to bring a New Haven style pizza to Northern Ireland called ‘apizza’, which has a thin crust and is coal fired.
Northern Ireland’s Favourite Local Business who receives the most nominations in the competition will win a £1,000 Town & City Gift Card, such as the Enniskillen Gift Card, with one person who nominated the winner receiving a £1,000 Town & City Gift Card.
Ryan Tummon, general manager of Angie’s, said: “New Haven in Connecticut is the pizza mecca and when Nicky brought New Haven apizza to Enniskillen, it was a new concept in Northern Ireland that was ahead of its time. We also offer poutine, loaded fries, wings and our Original Pacos. It was always about offering something unique in our food which is all made fresh here on site, but I think what keeps people coming back to Angie’s is the service.
“Nicky is incredible at what he does and goes out of his way to make sure people feel like they are coming home for food rather than going out for food. Our team are all amazing, and take this same approach of treating everyone like an old friend, from customers to our delivery drivers, and whether it’s their first trip to Angie’s or the 30th. Angie’s is very much a family business, and in fact even the name is a nod to Nicky’s mum, Angela.”
Angie’s is one of over 160 businesses who are part of the Enniskillen Gift Card initiative from Enniskillen BID. Over £1.5 million in Enniskillen Gift Cards have been sold to date.
Ryan adds: “The Enniskillen Gift Card is fantastic at supporting local businesses. It is one of the best things that has happened to Enniskillen because it gives people the choice of where to spend, from eating out to shopping, days out to nights out. Lots of companies give the card as staff rewards and it makes a massive difference to local businesses, because the card has to be spent in the town, driving real footfall and spend. People are delighted when they realise they can spend their card at Angie’s.
“Being nominated as Northern Ireland’s Favourite Local Business feels brilliant because it reinforces how important our local businesses are. It’s very easy to sit at home doom scrolling but by getting out, visiting local businesses, you meet the people behind the businesses, try new food and drink and have new experiences. The support of locals is everything to small businesses.”
Shops, restaurants, salons, hotels and services are all eligible to the Northern Ireland’s Favourite Local Business.
Noelle McAloon from Enniskillen BID said: “Over £300,000 in Enniskillen Gift Cards were sold in 2025, money that is locked into the town for the benefit of our business community. The popularity of the Enniskillen Gift Card shows the power of supporting local and the love that people have for our local businesses. It is fantastic to see this nomination for Angie’s. Please keep on nominating your favourite Enniskillen business for a chance to win a £1,000 Enniskillen Gift Card for yourself and for the business to win, just before Christmas.”
The Enniskillen Gift Card is part of Town & City Gift Cards initiative active across Northern Ireland.
Colin Munro, CEO of Miconex, said: “The Enniskillen Gift Card is the ultimate ‘shop local’ gift card, and can be spent with over 160 local businesses in the town. It is this unbeatable local choice that makes the card so popular for gifts, rewards and incentives. Buying the Enniskillen Gift Card or nominating a local business to be Northern Ireland’s Favourite Local Business are easy ways to show your support for local businesses in the run up to Christmas.”
