The work will complete stage four of the five-stage plan for the leading hotel, which recently benefitted from a £1million refurbishment, which included a complete transformation of its Grand Ballroom, lobby and Laganview Suite.

The news comes on the back of the announcement by owner Andras Hotels that it is soon to commence work on the new Hampton by Hilton Hotel, in a £12m investment in the city.

Supported by Danske Bank, work is expected to take six weeks and will see a major upgrade of the hotel bar and conference centre and creation of a new pre-function area to the Malone wedding suite.

“We are delighted that this next stage of the investment at the Ramada Plaza will soon commence,” said Andras director Rajesh Rana.

“We anticipate that the upgraded conference centre and new-look Malone Suite will secure further business and gala events to the hotel and we look forward to strengthening our burgeoning conferencing and wedding markets.”

Located at Shaw’s Bridge the Ramada Plaza is Belfast’s largest conference facility with 21 separate suites and one of the leading events and banqueting venues in Northern Ireland.

All meeting rooms in the second floor conference centre and the conference reception area will be renovated and work will be carried out by local designers and contractors.
