Ballywalter members mark 60 years
After a guided tour of the Great Hall and Chambers, members and special guests – Federation chairman, Elizabeth Warden and MLA Michelle McIlveen – enjoyed a delicious meal, followed by celebration cake, which was baked by vice-president, Marjorie.
Long serving member, Lorna Walker, entertained guests with past memories of Ballywalter WI.

Hide AdToasts were proposed to the Federation of Women’s Institutes and also to Ballywalter WI. In reply, Federation chairman, Elizabeth Warden, thanked the Institute for their support to the Federation.
Members thank N G Bell and Son Ltd, Ballywalter, for their sponsorship towards the evening.
Correspondence secretary, Angela, read congratulation greetings from senior members, guests and from our friends in Kirkley WI (England).
Honorary membership was bestowed on Lorna Walker, who has been a member for 59 years and was presented with her certificate by the Federation chairman.

Hide AdGifts of flowers were presented to Elizabeth Warden and Michelle McIlveen MLA received one of the WI’s famous cookery books.
The posies on the tables in WI colours had been beautifully arranged by Willow, Ann and Marjorie.
Gillian Dunlop proposed a comprehensive vote of thanks, which brought a memorable occasion to a close.
Everyone left with a beautiful wrapped teatowel to mark the occasion.
