Begin the countdown to Christmas: Northern Ireland shopping centre kicks off celebrations with two-day festive event
Two days of festive entertainment, a Christmas fayre and the return of the Victoria Square Express will mark the start of the festive season
Victoria Square will launch its Christmas celebrations this weekend with a festive lights switch-on and two days of seasonal entertainment in Belfast city centre.
The celebrations will begin at noon on Saturday, November 7, with the switch-on hosted by Victoria Square Express conductor Peter Corry and friends.
The event will mark the start of the shopping centre’s transformation into a winter wonderland, with visitors invited to enjoy a programme of festive activities throughout the weekend.
Entertainment will include free face painting, festive performers, special visits from reindeer and a local Christmas fayre.
The weekend will also see the return of the Victoria Square Express, the centre’s festive train experience.
Visitors will be able to board the train and travel through twinkling lights to Santa’s Village, where they can meet Santa in his grotto and have a festive photograph taken.
The event is part of Victoria Square’s Christmas programme, with the centre inviting shoppers and families to enjoy the seasonal celebrations and begin the countdown to Christmas.
