The brand’s largest Northern Ireland location to date and fourth largest store in the UK, the new Longwood Retail Park store opened recently and has seen an injection of 80 new jobs into the local economy.

The six-month project represented a significant investment by Home Bargains into their growing portfolio in Northern Ireland.

Consisting of demolition works, strip out of previous DIY-store unit and fit-out including partition walls, terrazzo flooring, fire curtains and all building fabric, over 60 members of the Parr FM team worked within the evolving Covid-19 safety protocols and guidelines to bring this project to completion safely and efficiently with least disruption to the original project timelines.

Following several successful project deliveries across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland over the past seven years, Parr FM has built a strong relationship with Home Bargains, one of the UK’s fastest-growing and highest-rated retailers, making Parr FM’s Belfast and Manchester-based teams one of Home Bargains’ preferred contractors for fit-out works.

Through their ongoing partnership, Parr FM has overseen a number of high-investment projects on behalf of the retail giant.

Commenting on the strong working relationship between Parr Facilities Management Ltd and Home Bargains Stephen Parr, Managing Director said: “Over the years we have been lucky to develop a positive working relationship with the team at Home Bargains through on-time and on-budget deliveries of several large-scale projects as well as our continued routine care which delivers maximum efficiency, safety and peace of mind to the UK-based team.

“We are proud to have worked closely with the Home Bargains team to deliver this especially exciting project during a time of added challenges with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.”

Building on their notable portfolio of retail clients and expertise with leading high street brands across the UK and Ireland including Lush, Footasylum, Co-Op and others, Parr FM brings unique qualifications as one of the few companies in the UK accredited to UKAS 17020 as an inspection body for electrical installations and offers a wealth of experience in providing mechanical and electrical management services.

The contract with Home Bargains enabled Parr FM to increase Northern Ireland-based staff numbers by one third across multiple skilled disciplines, adding to the reduction of unemployed personnel within the surrounding communities and aiding in sustainable growth for the company.
