There will be two completely free coaches, with one leaving Belfast and calling at Lisburn, Banbridge and Newry and a second bus leaving Dundalk, stopping at Drogheda on each of the dates.

The gesture is aimed at showing the company’s gratitude to the NHS/HSE staff for their work during the pandemic.

Praising all the frontline workers and their commitment during the pandemic Sean Connolly, Manager of East Coast Coaches said: “When we heard that The Script were laying on two free concerts to thank NHS/HSE front line staff and Primary Care workers (including nurses, doctors, cleaners, porters, ambulance staff) at Dublin’s 3Arena, we wanted to do something too.

“Our primary care workers and many other frontline workers have been amazing throughout this pandemic.

“We would like to show our thanks and appreciation for their work.

“While there are many people who have gone above and beyond during Covid-19 we have applied the same criteria as for the concert.

“You must have a valid concert ticket and original NHS/HSE ID with you to board the bus.

“The full details of he service are available along with the booking options on our websites www.eastcoastcoaches.com or www.busestoconcerts.com .”

Highlighting the plight of the local travel industry due to the crisis, Sean Connolly continued: “This has been a particularly difficult period for the travel industry including the bus and coach industry.

“Unfortunately, we have had no work from March and little Government support for the industry.

“We were gearing up for a record growth year with business better than ever when this pandemic struck.

“We are now just trying to do what we can to give people the confidence to return to public transport.

“Busestoconcerts.com was performing particularly well but the concert market completely disappeared in 2020.

“As a company though, we felt that even at such a difficult time for ourselves, it is important that we give back.”
