Commenting following the 101st annual event held in Moyallon on Richardson’s Estate Mrs Dobson said: “Once again the hard work and planning from the members and officers of Mullahead & District Ploughing Society delivered a fantastic showcase event for all sectors of our agricultural industry and a wonderful family day out!”

Mrs Dobson attended the ploughing match alongside party colleagues Danny Kennedy MLA, fellow Assembly election candidates Councillor Doug Beattie MC and Kyle Savage, councillors and friends.

“It’s no exaggeration to say that every year Mullahead gets bigger and better. This year alongside all the ploughing skills it was great to see the Highland Games and the gentle giant and former UK Strongest Man Mr Glenn Ross and his team keeping the crowds entertained throughout the day.

“This event truly is a showcase date in the farming calendar and one I never miss! Once again the grounds were packed with people supporting our local farmers and companies. It was also great to see the guys from Bleary Young Farmers there in strength as they are every year,” she said.

“I send my congratulations to the organisers and also to the Richardson family for their continued generosity.

“Everyone is already looking forward to next year’s ploughing match!”
