Two of the three directors retiring by rotation every year were re-elected, namely William Patterson and John Ferguson. Roy Kennedy, a founding director and past chairman, did not seek re-election and Ian thanked Roy for his contribution and enthusiasm over the years.

Ian Kernohan, UFU consultant, gave a presentation of the group’s activities throughout the year. Purchases made through the co-op totalled £2.8 million. The main products purchased were animal feed, fertiliser, detergents, dosing stuffs, sprays and fuel.

Ian introduced the guest speaker Brian Rankin, a farmer and poet from Limavady who entertained everyone with his poems. Brian has published several poetry books with all the proceeds going to the Africare Charity in Uganda.

A vote of thanks was proposed by William Patterson who also presented Brian with a cheque for £500 for his Africare Charity. £500 was also donated to Air Ambulance NI.
