Preparations in place for Markethill Fair Day

Markethill Horse and Pony Driving Club Ltd is holding its annual Markethill Fair Day on August 20 starting at 11am.

The opening parade of horse drawn vehicles will be led by club chairman Charles McLoughlin and will feature period costumes from the 1900s.

David Alexander will be back in his steam roller leading the vintage vehicles, tractors, cars, motorbikes lorries and much more.

There will also be showing in hand of horses, ponies, donkeys as well as pony and driving carriages.

Live entertainment includes The Indians showband performing at Main Street from 3pm to 5pm. John Glenn and the Stranglers will be based outside the Victoria Bar with Stephen Beckett providing music at Keady Street.

There will be a wide range of traditional arts and crafts demonstrations, while for children of all ages face painting, balloon modelling and amusements.
