Raising a glass to innovation: Armagh Cider, Troughton’s Premium and Dunluce Distillery launch new ready-to-drink creation

A refreshing innovation that’s ready-to-drink has been created in collaboration between Armagh Cider Company and Troughton’s Premium, near Portadown, and the artisan Dunluce Distillery in Portballintrae, Co Antrim.

This new beverage features Troughton’s Premium Elderflower Tonic and Traditional Lemonade, paired with Dunluce Distillery’s Dry Gin – The Shore Born.

The exciting venture between the companies combines local expertise, craftsmanship, and quality ingredients, according to Esther Paul, commercial manager of Armagh Cider, one of Ireland’s biggest and most successful producers of ciders and juices from its own orchards in Armagh, and the company’s Troughton’s Premium soft drinks.

“We are passionate about working together with like-minded producers to craft products that raise the profile of Northern Ireland on both local and global stages,” adds Esther.

The result, she continues, is “a balanced and refreshing serve that celebrates the very best of Northern Ireland’s food and drink innovation”.

A Food NI member, Armagh Cider is an award-winning producer of a range of ciders using apples from the Troughton family orchards outside Portadown.

The family owned and managed business, now one of the leaders in Irish cider, has created a range of soft drinks including tonics, mixers and fruit drinks under the Troughton Premium brand. The company’s cider and other products have won a string of UK Great Taste awards over the years

Dunluce Distillery is owned by Simon Hogg, the creator of the artisan gins and a unique lemoncello, products now sold widely along the North Coast. The company launched its first gins in 2021 and has since gone on to create other artisan beverages.

Simon, commenting on the unique collaboration, says: “This co-operation with Armagh Cider, which has vast experience and success in creating, bottling, canning and marketing a wide range of beverages, is immensely important for us and should help to widen our customer base. The ready-to-drink sector is fast developing here, in Britain and Ireland,” adds Simon.
