NI Chamber’s next Grow with Danske Bank event will explore how one of Northern Ireland’s most successful manufacturers built a global reputation from local roots.
Taking place at McConnell’s Distillery, Belfast, on Tuesday, September 22, the event will feature Nick Coburn CBE, Group chief executive officer of Ulster Carpets, in conversation with host Claire McCollum.
Together, they will discuss the company’s growth journey and the role that innovation, quality and reputation have played in building a trusted international brand.

Based in Portadown, Ulster Carpets designs and manufactures luxury carpets and rugs for residential and hospitality projects around the world. Founded in Northern Ireland in 1938, the business has grown from its local roots into a global group while retaining the values and craftsmanship associated with its heritage.

The company combines the enduring values of a family-owned business with the scale and expertise of a global manufacturer, drawing on generations of craftsmanship alongside continued innovation.
Attendees at the event will hear first-hand insights from Coburn on scaling a business internationally, building customer trust, protecting brand reputation and identifying opportunities for sustainable, long-term growth.
The event is aimed at SME owners, founders and senior leaders planning the next stage of growth for their businesses.
