Health Secretary Matt Hancock tests positive for Coronavirus
The Health Secretary Matt Hancock has tested positive for COVID-19.
The news comes only a couple of hours after Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed he too had tested positive for COVID-19.
Like Mr. Johnson, Mr. Hancock confirmed he had tested positive for the disease via his personal Twitter account.
"Following medical advice, I was advised to test for #Coronavirus.
"I‘ve tested positive.
"Thankfully my symptoms are mild and I’m working from home & self-isolating.
"Vital we follow the advice to protect our NHS & save lives #StayHomeSaveLives," Tweeted Mr. Hancock.
Michael Gove, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, has not been tested for coronavirus as he has not displayed symptoms of the virus, his wife Sarah Vine said on Twitter.
Earlier in the week it was announced that the Prince of Wales was also suffering “mild symptoms” of the disease.
On Thursday night Charles was seen for the first time since testing positive.
Clarence House posted a video in their Instagram Stories of heir to the throne Charles joining in with the round of applause for the NHS from Birkhall, his private home on the Balmoral estate in Scotland.
