Ballycastle Rotary support local Food Bank

Unsurprisingly, Ballycastle Food Bank - like so many others - has experienced a sharp upturn in demand since mid-March.

The increased need for provisions and assistance has resulted in a call for additional finances.

Mindful of this, Ballycastle Rotary Club donated a cheque for £400 to purchase essential provisions.

Brian Jamieson from the Rotary Club said: “Furthermore, the establishment of an Easyfundraising initiative will, through time, lead to a steady flow of money into the coffers of this very essential organisation.

“By simply downloading the Easyfundraising App or by going online to www.easyfundraising.org.uk and choosing Ballycastle Rotary as your charity, a percentage of monies spent shopping online will be donated to Ballycastle Foodbank via Rotary.

“It is important to use the Easyfundraising site and subsequently be redirected to the shop/site of your choice, as this ensures the company in question will donate. With over 4000 such options, there is certainly plenty of opportunity to raise a few pounds for a great cause.

“Once you have been registered on the Easyfundraising site, the process is simple and best of all it costs you, the shopper, nothing extra - save a little time to go about your retail therapy in a slightly different manner!

“All successful donations will be notified by email and the Foodbank will start to enjoy a new stream of income.

“Further details are available on Ballycastle Rotary Club Facebook page,” he added.
