Arrests after Dunmurry burglary and car theft

Police have arrested two men on suspicion of a number of offences including taking and driving away, burglary and allowing self to be carried following a police pursuit in Dunmurry in the early hours of this morning.

Police received a report at around 1.40am that a man had forced entry to a house in the Ashgrove area of Dunmurry and taken the keys to the occupant’s car, a blue Ford B-Max,” said Inspector Roy Burnside.

“A short time later this car was reported as being driven dangerously in the Seymour Hill area. Police responded and pursuit trained officers followed the stolen car along the Bell Steel Road to where it was then abandoned at Woodside View. The two men were arrested following a search of the area and remain in custody assisting with police enquiries.”

Police have appealed for anyone who saw a blue ford B-max being driven in the Dunmurry area between 1.40am and 2.15am or who has any information to contact police in Woodbourne on 101 quoting reference 143 17/07/16.
