Carrickfergus youths apologise over Halloween anti-social behaviour

Police following up on anti-social behaviour over the Halloween period in Carrickfergus have issued community resolution notices to a number of young people.

PSNI Mid and East Antrim received a high volume of call in relation to fireworks and alcohol involving young people in the town at the end of last month.

In an update, police said: “On that night and since then we have followed up, identifying some that were involved.

“We have issued community resolution notices to young people for being so drunk they were unable to stand, firework offences, obstructing police and we are still following up on a number of other offences.

“The resolutions agreed have included apologies in person, in writing and participation in youth justice offence awareness sessions.

“Without parental support it’s difficult for young people to see the risks of their behaviour or the impact on the community.
