Homeowner confronts burglar in hallway making off with motorbike keys

A home owner confronted a burglar in his home during an early morning burglary.

The incident happened at Rossnareen Avenue in west Belfast.

Detective Sergeant Fairfield said: “It was reported at approximately 3.10am that entry had been gained to the property and a set of motorcycle keys taken.

“The male suspect made off when confronted by the home owner.

“Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to call detectives on 101, quoting reference number 126 of 24/03/21.”

Detective Sergeant Fairfield added: “I want to take this opportunity to remind people to do all they can to protect their homes.

“Make sure to close, lock and check all windows and doors before leaving your home or going to bed.

“Get into the habit of doing this every day as part of your routine to have less chance of being targeted by opportunistic burglars.
