Man arrested in Belfast by police probing 'drugs menu' which was sent over WhatsApp

A man has been arrested by police investigating a "drugs menu" which has been circulated.

The message, which was later removed but has been seen by the Press Association, included prices, how to pay, a list of meet-up points and the statement "time wasters will be blocked".

It is understood the WhatsApp group to which it was sent contained coaches from a large number of children's football teams, but that youngsters were not part of the conversation.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on the west Belfast area this afternoon.

Chief Inspector Claire Hamilton urged anyone with information to speak to police.

"Tackling illegal drug supply is a priority for the Police Service of Northern Ireland," she said.

"Drugs bring misery to individuals, families and communities.

"Our message is clear and simple: if you see or know of anyone who is dealing drugs in your local area, then contact us on 101 or make a report online via our website."
