Men stabbed in chest, throat, head and abdomen in separate attacks - appeal for witnesses

In a statement the PSNI say they are appealing for information and witnesses in relation to an incident in West Belfast during which two men were stabbed.

Detective Sergeant Faulkner said: “Shortly after 3am (Monday 12th April), police responded to a report of a disturbance in New Barnsley Park.

“Shortly afterwards, a man in his 20s was stabbed in the Avoca Court area, sustaining injuries to his chest, his left side, throat and head.

“He is presently in hospital where his condition is described as stable.”

The statement adds that a second victim, - also a man in his 20s - was attacked a short distance away at Mount Alverno Garage on the Springfield Road.

“He sustained stab wounds to his right arm, abdomen and leg,” added the statement.

“A man in his 30s has been arrested and is currently in police custody assisting detectives with their enquiries.”

Police are now asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who has any information to contact police on 101 and quote reference number 118 and 121 of 12/04/21, or submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
