Public asked to avoid area after ‘discovery of suspicious device’

The public is being asked to avoid an area of Co Fermanagh this morning after the discovery of a ‘suspicious device’.

Chief Inspector Robert McGowan said: “Police in Enniskillen cordoned off the Lough Shore Path area , in the vicinity of Riverside, following the discovery of a suspicious device this morning.

“No roads are closed at this time and public is asked to avoid the area to allow police to conduct enquiries and make the scene safe.

“We will keep you updated.”

This is the latest report of a suspicious object in Co Fermanagh.

On March 13 police received a report that some type of device had been left in the Fermanagh border area, specifically in the areas of Cavan Road and Clones Road in Newtownbutler.
