Staff ‘extremely traumatised’ after knifeman grabs employee by wrist

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following the report of a man armed with a knife robbing a service station on the Antrim Road in Belfast.

At around 10pm on Friday a man with a knife entered the premises and demanded a member of staff open the till. Two staff members tried to exit the premises, however the suspect grabbed one of them by the arm leaving red marks to her wrist. Both managed to leave the premises. The suspect remained in the store and stole a sum of cash before leaving.

Both members of staff have been left “extremely traumatised” by their ordeal, police said.
