Vulnerable woman left shaken after city burglary

In a statement the PSNI say they are investigating reports of burglaries at two separate addresses in east Belfast on Sunday, February 7th.
A report was received at 3.10pm that a man had broken into a house on the Newtownards Road.

Hide AdA male who went to the assistance of a female occupant was struck on the hand with a hammer before the suspect made off empty handed.
A second report was received shortly before 4pm of a burglary on the Castlehill Road area of east Belfast.
Police arrested a 37-year-old man at the scene. He remains in custody at this time, assisting with police enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Verner said: “The intrusions have left all concerned, in particular a vulnerable lady, badly shaken.
“Thankfully, no serious injuries were sustained.
