Woman in 80s left shaken after confronting burglar in her home - nothing is believed to have been taken from her home

Detectives are now appealing for information following a report of a burglary at residential premises at the Lismoyne Park area of north Belfast.

Detective Sergeant Corrigan said: “Sometime between 12.30pm and 12.50pm, it was reported that entry was gained into a house in the area by an unknown male.

“A woman inside the property aged in her 80s confronted the male but although not injured, was left badly shaken. N

“othing was believed to have been taken, but a number of doors and cupboards were opened during the incident.

“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 793 05/03/20.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
