Remembrance Sunday: Dungannon remembers sacrifices of the fallen

Members of the Royal British Legion, along with representatives from various associations and organisations, gathered at the Royal British Legion premises in Dungannon for a Remembrance Parade and Service on Sunday.
The proceedings began at 10.30am, with participants assembling at the Legion before the parade formed up in Scotch Street Car Park at 10.40am.
Led by the parade marshal, the parade marched off along Scotch Street at 10.45am, with the bugler and piper taking up their designated positions.
At 11am, an Act of Homage was observed, during which the Branch President Noel Irwin MBE recited the Exhortation and then the Kohima Prayer.

This was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at 11.05am.
The parade then proceeded towards the saluting dais, which had been positioned opposite the Ulster Bank, where the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of County Tyrone, Mrs Frances Nolan MBE, took the salute.
She was escorted by Comrade Pete Murray.
At 11.30am, the Service of Remembrance took place at St Anne’s Church of Ireland, Church Street, Dungannon, led by the Reverend Dr Mark Gallagher.

The branch president once again led the Act of Homage, reciting the Exhortation and the Kohima Prayer, while Mrs Nolan delivered the Scripture lesson.
The service concluded with the National Anthem and the Kohima Prayer, before the Standards departed the church, followed by the minister.
At 12.30pm, the parade re-formed outside the church and marched back to the Royal British Legion.
On arrival, the branch president addressed those assembled before handing over to the Vice Lord-Lieutenant, who also delivered an address. The Parade Marshal then called the parade to attention for the National Anthem before requesting permission from the Vice Lord-Lieutenant to formally dismiss the parade.
