Officers' enquiries lead to Class A drugs find and triple vehicle seizure

Police who suspected that a man was involved in crime subsequently found Class A drugs when they searched a house.

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime arrested the 27-year-old following the search in the Mourneview Park area of Newry on Friday, the PSNI said at the weekend.

The PSNI said it had followed “enquiries”, which led officers to believe the “occupant was involved in criminal activities”.

At around 6pm the house was raided and the man arrested on suspicion of Possession of Class A Drugs, Possession of Class A Drugs With Intent to Supply and Possession of Criminal Property.

As well as drugs, cash and three vehicles were seized, along with “articles believed to be used in the supply of illegal drugs”.

The man has since been released on police bail

Police asked “anyone who has any information about the use or supply of illegal drugs to contact police on 101 and pass that information on; information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111”.
