It is not good for unionism if Sinn Fein are more determined to fight their corner than the DUP is theirs

It is reported that Edwin Poots is prepared to set up checking facilities to facilitate the Irish Sea border.

And if it is true as seems to be accepted by many that no SF minister (‘Sinn Fein would not set up checking facilities at the land border,’ September 26) would ever set up checking facilities at the land border with Eire, what does this tell us about the relative determinations of the DUP and SF to promote their respective causes?

And if Sinn Fein are so much more determined to fight their corner then the DUP are prepared to fight theirs, what is the inevitable outcome of the struggle between Irish nationalism and unionism while unionism is under the leadership of the DUP as presently constituted?
