Letter: Conscription offers good solutions to help people develop vocational skills

Surely now is the time to introduce conscription.

We are spending an extraordinary amount of money on supporting members of the our society, and rightly so, for whom there are few opportunities and a lack of employment potential.

The conscripts could benefit from further education and appropriate vocational apprenticeship and training in construction, engineering and building services.

This training could include office management and record keeping.
