Letter: Preachers are being grouped with buskers as a convenient ruse to restrict those who spread the gospel
A letter from Cliff Cardwell:
Efforts to restrict Christian preaching in the streets of Belfast are clearly driven by politicians who are fiercely opposed to the gospel message (‘Concern at byelaw code of conduct,’ December 13).

The grouping of preachers with buskers is a convenient ruse for the antagonists to give the restrictions the appearance of being reasonable.
The Alliance suggestion that the currently proposed draconian measures should be extended to ban the display of graphic images would, if adopted, not just outlaw images relating to abortion but also to the cross – the most barbaric method of execution and universal symbol of Christianity.
