Missing a key point about Irish people

Ben Lowry (‘Sea border was imposed because UK knew unionists would take it,’ Jan 16) misses a crucial point.

British rule created Northern Ireland for unionists who rejected Irish Home Rule. Boris Johnson talks plenty about the British people. But Irish people in NI are not British people.

We are part of the Irish nation and have a right, an absolute right, to national freedom.

Unionists assert their right to be British.
