UK state has no right to kill the Irish

Ben Lowry (June 11) stated, 'But as I have written before, republican leaders know they would have been killed long ago if the state was anything like as ruthless as they pretend'.

What right has the British state to kill Irish people?

Loughinisland et al is directly linked to the event reported in the News Letter on June 7, 1916: Ulster And Home Rule: Sir Edward Carson put before the members of the Ulster Unionist Council the suggestion that the six counties should be excluded from the operation of the Home Rule Act.

Basically Britain partitioned Ireland in collusion with loyalists against the expressed will of the Irish people.
