Emma’s skills are rewarded as she is named Creative Nail Technician of the Year

Emma trained as a nail technician five years ago and what began as a hobby quickly became a business that she loved.

"I've always loved getting my own nails done, and I wanted to learn the skill myself,” Emma explained.

"Initially, I thought it would be a small side hobby alongside my career as a swimming instructor.

"As time went on, my client base continued to grow, and I realised there was real potential to build something special.

"Eventually, I made the decision to leave my permanent job as a swimming instructor and focus on growing Lux Nails by Emma full-time.

Looking back, it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

"Running my own business has given me the flexibility to work around my children, especially my eldest, who has complex additional needs. Being able to be there for my family while doing something I genuinely love has meant everything to me.”

Emma admits that without the support of her family, friends, and, of course, her clients, she wouldn’t be where she is today.

"My husband and my family have been my biggest supporters from the very beginning, and I honestly couldn't have done it without them,” she said.

"They've always believed in me, encouraged me and supported me every step of the way.

"I'm also incredibly grateful to every single one of my clients. Without their loyalty, trust and support, none of this would have been possible.

"They have helped make Lux Nails by Emma what it is today, and I'll always be thankful for that.”

Last year Emma was delighted to be named as a finalist in the prestigious awards but this year she went one better and brought home the award.

"I was genuinely emotional and so proud of everything I've achieved,” she continued.

“Winning this award feels like recognition for all of the hard work, sacrifices and dedication that have gone into building my business. It's a moment I'll never forget."
