The single vehicle collision, involving an HGV lorry which overturned leaving the east Antrim town, occurred shortly after 7.30pm on Sunday and, police say, caused severe traffic disruption to traffic until 2.00am on Monday.

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to contact them in Larne on 101 quoting reference number 1307 28/03/21. They are also keen to speak with the drivers of a blue Volvo car and a black Audi A3 car which they believe were travelling from Pound Street onto the A8 out of Larne at the time of the collision
