People still travelling to walk in picturesque areas - Council warns this is NOT essential travel

A post on Mid and East Antrim Council Facebook site clearly states that the ongoing issue has led to them having to close the car park.

Their post says: “People are still driving to Slemish to go for a walk.

“This is NOT essential travel. Please stop.

“In conjunction with the local community, Council made the decision to close the car park at Slemish.

“Please stay at home unless you need to leave your home for an essential reason.

Stay At Home”.

Yesterday we revealed a picture of a car park along the north coast which was packed with vehicles.

The image had been posted on Police Causeway Coast & Glens Facebook page.
