Portrush Music Society scoops musical theatre awards for its production of My Fair Lady
A north coast theatre group is celebrating success in the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) awards, which were held in Wales recently.
Portrush Music Society’s 2025 production of My Fair Lady was awarded the title of Outstanding Show in the Wales and Ireland section of the awards, which were attended by members of the cast and committee.
Individual accolades were also awarded to two of the production’s leading performers. Lindsay Johnson received the award for Outstanding Female Performance for her captivating portrayal of Eliza Doolittle, while Aidan Hughes was recognised with Outstanding Male Performance for his commanding performance as Professor Henry Higgins.
In addition, David Mitchell was also nominated for his role as Freddy Eynsford-Hill.

Director Kerry Kane said: "I am absolutely thrilled for everyone involved in this production. From the cast to the backstage team, this was a true collective effort.
"To see that hard work recognised at this level is incredibly special, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together."
Award winner Lindsay Johnson added: "I’m completely delighted and genuinely so proud. Playing Eliza was such a rewarding experience, and to receive this recognition means so much. It’s a credit to the amazing support from the entire company."
Aidan Hughes said: “I’m honoured to receive this award. Working on My Fair Lady with such a talented group of people made the whole experience unforgettable. This recognition really belongs to everyone involved."
