Thousands raised in GoFundMe for NI woman who lost both parents within hours of each other to COVID-19

Owen and Bredge Ward, who were both 69-years, passed away in hospital on Monday.

Last week, their family had hoped Mr and Mrs Ward, from Strabane, County Tyrone, were recovering from Covid-19.

But they sadly died on November 16 within hours of each other.

Their funerals were held today.

In the fund raiser, Ciara Mc Carron, says she “has been thinking of ways in which I could help one of my best friends Tracey Ward who has tragically lost both parents to Covid-19 on 16th November 2020”.

Already almost £5,000 has been raised.

The post adds that her parents, Owen and Bredge, “were loving parents and grandparents” who “have a wide supportive family circle”.

“They were both highly respected and known throughout the whole Strabane community and beyond.

“Due to the current restrictions everyone feels helpless in supporting the Ward family at this time.

“I would kindly ask if a small donation could be made just to let the family know we are truly thinking of them all in the days and weeks ahead”.
